He phoned me today to ask for my advice and the best I could come up with was "do what feels right to you, if you think its wrong and you want to out it.. do it and if not... well at least you've rattled a few cages". I kinda feel like I blew up the raft and pushed him out to sea. Yes I know he got in it... lol but he's not the best sailor and he isnt used to battling political sharks.
Right well.. I feel like I've wrenched everything I can out of that metaphor. *grin*

Anyway, if he does go to the press - then a police career is over. However, from the sounds of it it's over anyway so what's the difference. I suppose it comes down to what he wants from it, an apology, a change of policy for the next squaddie who applies, just to make the force uncomfortable for a while or whatever. I wouldn't, simply because even if the force isn't vindictive enough to start pulling him over every five minutes, letting journo's into your life is rarely a beneficial thing.
