Trust Issues..

Lately I've been learning not to put my trust in anyone but myself. It feels like every time I expect someone to help me with something I get my hopes up, just to have them shot down. I guess I'm still as open as I've always been, I just don't really expect anything from anyone anymore. The funny thing is that I don't feel like that's a bad thing. ( Read more... )

I'm pretty much the same way. When I was younger, I always put my full trust into just about everyone. No matter who I met, I would always give them the opportunity to know everything about me, be incredibly close to me, and be someone that I would support since I expected the same out of them ( ... )

Definitely well-put. My thoughts exactly.

Funny thing is though, that I thought it would be a lot harder to make friends going this way and not caring what other people think. What I didn't realize is when you're not TRYING to be someones friend they look at you in a whole new way. They see the real you rather than the person you're trying to be in order to get their approval. Which inevitably makes you different from all of the other people that they've met.
Well at least from what I've seen so far. So lately I've been making friends with pretty much everyone.

It's like a method almost. haha.
And I don't even want anymore friends!!

Wow I hope I wrote this right.. been drinking a little. haha.

I know EXACTLY what you mean. When I was in middle school, I was always the type to really go around and try to fit in with people. I'd make nice based on the situation and the person that I wanted to be friends with. When I broke that little façade (whether it be on accident or on purpose), people would tend to be a lot more angry and disappointed. They blame you for "never telling them the truth when they really needed it" or just being a liar in general.

Even the people I end up being blunt with tend to appreciate it more.

And don't worry, it sounds pretty right to me. xD
