Red X exited his teleportation field just outside of his penthouse suite. He had this room for a while; robbing the Trump Casino in Atlantic City had quite the payoff. He slid his cardkey into the slot, and the several layers of magnetic locks disengaged, allowing him to enter. The thief entered the room, but didn't take his suit off; he knew Ace was inside, and he didn't want to give away his identity to anybody, least of all somebody he had just met.

Especially considering who he was. Especially considering who he was, was legally dead.

He entered the master bedroom, where Ace was sitting by the window. "Have a nice evening?" the thief said cordially, with just a hint of his ever-familiar sarcasm to each syllable. "You should get some sleep. I'll even order room service for you in the morning."

Ace didn't turn her gaze away from the window and just continued to stare out towards nothing.

"I don't need it."

Sleep wasn't something that she did. More so, it was something she couldn't ever remember doing. She would spend her nights in Section 12 starting out the window by her bed, gazing at the moon. Not really thinking of anything, not really looking something. Just...staring as she always did and had.

Red X sighed, and sat down on the bed. She wasn't any use to him if she was going to be like this; depressed, not doing anything, not sleeping... and damn it, Red X was so fucking bad at babysitting. "Come on, Ace," Red X said, forcing himself to sound halfway cheerful. "Can you at least tell me what brought you back to Metropolis? Project Cadmus was still ongoing, last I heard."

"...I don't know."

True, Project Cadmus was indeed still ongoing. No doubt it would only be a matter of time until someone had told them where she was. She should have been much more concerned about this, but she wasn't. After moving around from place to place for so long without any sort of clear pattern in mind, she had no real reason for being here.

"Looking for some place familiar, maybe?"
