I figured if I cut the pond!sex scene, I might get shot. ;-P

Oh, wow. just awesome, sweetie katelennon February 14 2008, 03:21:31 UTC
Man, I do love this story something fierce. It's so beautiful and so revealing of both Charlotte and Dean. I am all sad now that this isn't canon, because, darnit, I want to see our Dean have this. I really, really do. I don't care what anyone else says, by gorrah, I want to have a little bit of 'happily ever after' even if it is only a dream sent by a demon.

Oh, Charlotte, I want to make you Angry Cookies and give you hugs and then hug you some more.

Ah, Branni, man I do love this story.

Thank you, as always! ;-P

I have worked hard to distill what I believe is the essence of their characters into this. It's hard trying to make Dean "open up" without making him wholly OOC. And Charlotte is even more spastic and less composed; I love it when she's messy because she seems all the more real to me.

He has truly earned it...and canon proved me right in the yearning that he has for a family and someone who just loves him, you know?

I may have trouble keeping from blushing in the presence of raspberries for the rest of my natural life! The hotness! The taste! *faints*
I love how much their relationship grows and solidifies here. We get to see how they each gently transform the other's life. The quiet conversations about their families are full of that healing kind of pain. They're slowly figuring out that the other is really there to stay, they're learning to take in actions instead of hearing the insecurities and built-in doubts. It's a slow process that feels wonderfully human and full of hope.
Also, Hi Sally! OMG *bounces* It just struck me that here Sally is the new-girl in school, not Sam.
I love that your AN includes mention of a possible AU (Savannah State) to an AU within your AU. Seriously. It's an indication of how solid and multi-dimensional your characters are. Which brings me to my Charlotte love. I love that she's not out to fix Dean, but is determined to give him the opportunity to see Sammy, and to heal ( ... )

I was trying to go with a tactile scene, since a lot of Charlotte's inner self-esteem issues has to do with how her body looks...

Yes, I do actually sit down and worry about the psychology of every character I write. ;-P

I think that is why the story has grown somewhat exponentially from the original one - I've had some time to think about the smaller things and, from Charlotte's POV, it's always been about the smaller things. Dean is more about the grand gestures and the big declarations after months of holding it in. It's a different dynamic to write.

I thought that was a nice twist.

This is fantastic. And I don't JUST love it cause she's a clumsy dork who always seems to say the wrong thing. Mind if I add you so I can not lose this and all your other fics? Cause I've lost the addy to this page twice already.

Thank you so much! I've worked hard to make Charlotte a real character and am thrilled that you're enjoying the story.

And, by all means, friend away.

My personal journal is at elanurel (wherein I am chatty) and x_strangeangels is my writing journal. You are welcome to friend either as you are so inclined. ;-P
