Very good! Enjoyed the shared moments. Great DEAN POV too. All worked very nicely. Looking forward to next bit!

I'm getting better with the Dean POV. I'm just having a hard time writing everyone with that underlying core of anger and - in the boys' case - betrayal. I don't think the show went deep enough to explore that, really, and I'm hoping we see more of it.

Which has nothing to do with your comment, but that's my brain. ;-P

Dean in glasses...I'm enjoying that mental image. ;) He may say it makes him look like a dork, but honestly, there's no way it could. It's impossible for him to be anything but hot -- he's Dean Winchester for God's sake! ;P

Amanda's kind of mysterious. She has me intrigued for sure. And once more she leaves Sam and Dean with the bill! *lol*

I'm curious about what this meeting has in store and what kind of assistance these Elders will bring. Can't wait for the next installment!

I think Dean secretly knows he's pretty much "hot" no matter what he wears (although, you know, that'd be an interesting story to write in and of itself...) but he is one of the biggest dorks on TV. It's part of why I love him so much as a character myself. ;-P

Well, you've gotta go with the joke once you get it started. I really am trying to work depth into Amanda, even though she's so different that most of my OFCs. Even Charlotte, who was supposed to be prickly, didn't come off as sharp as Amanda does.

Sadly, it's still looking like Friday. If I can finish up a rough draft for beta, maybe sooner...

I'm really enjoying this story -- especially the casefile, which is amazing! I like the way you're building it slowly, and putting the pieces together. And the way Sam is torn between the case and his real project, of saving Dean.

(By the way, if you ever want real Latin, let me know. I am a not-all-that-highly-paid professional, after all.)

Thank you so much! I was blessed with an absolutely amazing prompt, which I confess to have subverted a wee bit for my own purposes. It doesn't hurt that I've studied a lot of pre-Christian Celtic mythology/history, either...

I was worried that it was unfolding too slowly (so there's an action scene coming up to break some of the research) but I wanted it to be a slow burn until the end, picking up speed.

And the way Sam is torn between the case and his real project, of saving Dean.

I am entirely too find of sweet Sammy angst.

(By the way, if you ever want real Latin, let me know. I am a not-all-that-highly-paid professional, after all.)I may take you up on that! (One of my characters in the "Strange Angels" 'verse is getting her Masters in linguistic and was concentrating on ancient languages before Sam pushed her into the back of the car. She isn't a Daniel Jackson prodigy or anything. And, yep, I committed the ultimate SPN fanfic sin by sticking ( ... )

You never cease to amaze me with all the research you put into this stuff.

Sadly, I have a timeline and entirely too many books spread out in my study. *is blushing* It doesn't hurt that Celtic mythology and history is something that I study just for my own personal edification.

I really like Amanda, and I love that she's able to one-up Dean and sucker the boys into paying for her meals. HEE.

My confession is, alas, I didn't like Amanda when I first started writing her. She's angry - and it's totally justifiable - but that kind of intensity tends to make her prickly; even more so than the initial introduction to Charlotte, which really surprised me. But now that I've spent some time with her, she's growing on me. ;-P

Also, I totally love that even though this has nothing to do with Strange Angels (it doesn't, right?), you're still dealing with Ascension and Sam's Dark Destiny.Nope. This was, until 3.05 came out, totally meant to be part of Season Three proper. (3.05 takes place during the same week as this story. I've been ( ... )

It's there! And it does! But that's all I'm saying so as not to ruin my thickening plot. ;-P
