Well I went to talk to a recruiter at the Armed forces careers center today.  It was pretty cool and I reaaaaalllllllllllly want to join and train as a nurse!  The recruiter went through the whole process of applying and talked to me about different career paths other than nursing.  I think I'd also enjoy an intelligence role too if I can't get ( Read more... )

Coming from Lincolnshire, I have to say, why the clodhoppers in particular, rather than the RAF? (no offense intended, just curious!)

Lol, no idea really...the army just seems to appeal more. Plus I don't really like flying or boats!

Hmm.. well it's an interesting choice. I've thought about pursuing nursing as a career (if I got a little better), but why nursing through the Army? Just curious. I know you want to get going on something to restart your life, but just make sure it's not something that is going to neccessarily tie you down if you find that it isn't for you. I just feel a little hesitation because it's such a big life decision coming so fast off a recovery that I think you should feel your way around a little bit before you sign yourself up for a life course. University might be a way to balance both living and stress control. But it's up to you. I hope whatever happens works out for the best. And i'm glad you are excited about something :) ♥

Lol yeah it's certaintly a bizarre choice. Training through the army appeals for a couple of reasons really. Getting a wage, getting trained in other things besides just nursing, traveling, getting fit and the fact it will be challenging and full of variety. I'm not just going to sign my life away though ;0) I think you get something like 3 months to back out if you hate it and it takes something like a year to actually apply. But having said all that they probably wont accept me because of my medical history, so it's pretty much a long shot. I'm thinking about training as a nurse at university...but I still don't really know if I'd like it or enjoy it?! I s'pose there is only one way to find out :0)
