i forgot where i got this from, but for the scientists/curious people, this article is quite a good read about how nuclear reactors work and what's been done to prevent any radiation.

it's slightly outdated, but nevertheless understanding the background will definitely help the whole situation.

THANK you. I was getting tired of explaining how "an explosion at the reactor" is not the same as "the reactor exploded."

hahah, I know what you mean. I have a feeling my mum would be asking me and all if I decided to call her and see how she is going. I guess it's one reason why people are getting so worked up over the power stations? Without the proper education/background, any one would be scared about something exploding...
