You are spot on, I think Dean wouldn't have lasted long if the demon had refused to take his soul. And when you think about it, maybe the angel's purpose would still have been served because suicides probably go to Hell too, right?

I couldn't imagine Dean without Sam, especially at that time of the show! I don't see how he could have kept going!
And you're right, suicides go to hell, I thought about it when I finished writing the fic. Anyway the angels would get what they want!
