Ginta had been spending a good amount of time in Aya-chan's world lately. This suited him just fine but, after dealing with the high school patrons during a morning shift at the Kitten that seemed to stretch longer than usual, he felt the need for a change of scenery. So, he found himself doing something he didn't do that often anymore when the ( Read more... )

Ginta isn't the only one who's sought out this area of the Nexus for relaxation. The Count is currently sitting cross-legged in a minuscule clearing, 'skirt' of his cheongsam smoothed over his legs, the matching jacket lying abandoned behind him because it really is too hot for it, and no one's around to see his scarred upper arm anyway.

He doesn't really seem to be doing anything except sitting there with his eyes closed, and emitting some sort of incense-y sweet smell. The forest around him seems to be doing quite a bit though; dogwood and birch turning into pines anf firs, the lot of them all growing taller, thicker. The smells follow, then the sounds, until the patch of forest within a ten foot radius looks more suited to a certain German forest.

Opening his eyes, the kami smiles at seeing how well the framework took. With a thought, the illusion spreads.

The smell is what hits Ginta first. The scent of the trees isn't entirely familiar, but it is pleasant. He closes his eyes, inhales... and when he opens his eyes he blinks rapidly. He'd been looking for a change of scenery, but hadn't expected to find scenery that changed. He should have. It is the Nexus, after all.

Still, curiosity being what it is, he can't help but see if maybe the direction the scents had been coming from might have something to do with the source of the change. He follows his nose to where the scent is strongest.

The further one goes into the illusion the odder it becomes, though nothing too blatant (if only because the kami's still working on it.) Many of the trees appear to have faces when glanced at, although a closer look would reveal oddly shaped bark and shadow, nothing more. The wind occasionally sounds like whispers, butterflies are rather larger than normal and much too brightly patterned, and now for some reason there's the smell of stale gingerbread under it all.

The latter is thanks to the Count attempting to create an illusion of the gingerbread house in the Hansel and Gretal tale, located a few strides in front of where he's sitting. So far all he has is the smell, and a not quite real-looking house that appears to be in a brighter spot than the rest of the small clearing.

The wind and butterflies he can dismiss, but Ginta isn't so sure those trees don't have faces, even when he examines them more closely. For all he knows, they could be some sort of tree spirit that is very skilled in hiding.

The house kind of throws him, though. He's really suspicious about how much brighter it is than everything else. He's going to see if he can just walk around it...
