I know, I know. Me writing reviews!? Not something that happens all the time. But I'm liking this show way too much to let my opinions on it pass. Really. I'm becoming Arrow fangirl. Of fangirly levels.
GMTA and I could not have said it better either................ ((((((THUMBS UP)))))))))) BTW I also cannot wait to see Ben do a walk on.... I wish we could get JF to do that ........ In fact I would love to see either of them, or how about Kavan Smith, do a walk on for GRIMM I might have to inspect the location if that happened.
What a deeply thought out comment you have there! Were you able to understand anything or were you just dumbly staring at Oliver thinking OMG he's just so hot and oh yes keep that shirt off? I SO know you did!
I did it, but not that much. Actually I could see everything you've written and well as I did not know the story of the comic books I'm a bit anxious now to see Laurel as this bird you've called her. *.*
I saw your link to this review in a comm and thought I'd pay you a little visit ;) I started watching Arrow very recently, as in three days ago and I felt for it, hook line and sinker. It surprised me, actually, as I started watching more on a whim than anything, a friend of mine told me she loved it and thought I could give it a try. Obviously, she gives really good advice ;)
I enjoyed this episode tremendously, and for many of the reasons you mentioned. It was interesting seeing Oliver be afraid of being The Hood, not so much because he was afraid for him but because he's starting to realise that, yes, many people love and care for him and his actions have consequences.
I'm also smitten with Diggle and Oliver and love their dynamics.
It's so easy to fall for this show. I've got hooked instamtly, then recommended it to a friend and he watched all episodes in two days, lol. Now we're ganging up to get another friend of ours hooked too.
I originally started to watch it because of John Barrowman's involvement (I am in Germany and before this announcement I had not heard about the show, and it's not usually the kind of TV I watch). The trailer already sold me, I watched it over and over again, waiting desperatedly for October to come around.
I certainly didn't expect that, that I would watch the episodes over and over again and never got bored. All actors and characteres are great, and I like especially the realistic touch. Plus Vancouver, I have been there twice, and it's lovely to recognize some places.
Of course, there are some things that could be improved, but it's still the early days and all new shows have to find their feet first. I really hope it will be around for a few years!
It's just so new to me to be there right from the start and actually having to wait a week for the next episode!
Great review btw. I wish the community was a bit more alive.
I usually like the island bits but in that episode in particular they felt... I don't know. I usually love seeing what went on the island and peel off the layers of Oliver's character but to be honest last week I was slightly disappointed at the scenes. I'm actually dying for someone to make a video of only the island bits and I even got the perfect song for it.
Diggle is my fave so far too. I hope I'm not keeping my expectations too high, lol, because I hope great things will happen in the future with the announced villains and Roy.
