hehehe, I have to give my man the credit for the wall colour and the floor, they were his choices. Everything else was down to me.

yup, hubby's favorite color is yellow so he didn't get too bugged by it - but every time I threaten to paint something, he gets nervous. ^_^

my house is starting to look like a Crayola factory threw up.

I know the feeling, I have a blue accent wall in the living room, a dark green one in our bedroom, and there is a mass of brights in the nursery of course

Pretty! I have been itching to do a kitchen remodel too...maybe next summer, since this summer we are doing the living room and dining room. I love the sleek modern looking cabinets.

My current kitchen looks much, much worse than your old one. Previous owners had not remodeled since the 70's!

its fab now its done. Baseboards stay on, cupboard doors close, drawers are not falling apart and my floor is not a mess. You wouldn't have believed the old one was only ten years old, but they really did such a mess of a job on it, it aged fast. Refits are not fun! But on the other side, I will honestly say its worth it.

Shall I expect a visit then ;) *chuckles* The old kitchen looked perfectly nice at first glance, but the floor had a massive down slope, the flooring was separated and water damaged, the cupboards were falling to bits at the back and the doors starting to come off, the knobs were falling off and couldn't be repaired, the drawers fell apart on a regular basis and were held together by sheer willpower, the sink was manky and stained, the dishwasher was dead, and they had seriously screwed with the plumbing, and it was frankly amazing that we had not had a waste water related disaster in the last year (the pipe had a hump in it so waste water had to go uphill, and the pipe was hanging off the wall with no support).

Not to mention the baseboards that fell on your feet, the nails sticking out of the walls... oh and the slugs that came up the unsealed waste water pipe!

Its lovely it really is, got some moving of stuff to go back in there to do yet, a lot of it, and the utility room and toilet need painting as well to tidy them up, but its a lovely, lovely kitchen and I love it.
