I personally like the dub, but I can definitely see where others might not enjoy it. So it's fine. :D

I just can't get over the voices. I don't feel they fit the characters. And I dislike some of what is added on in the dub that isn't originally in the series. I have nothing against people who do like it however. :)

I can understand, however, that Hetalia is nothing easy to dub, especially given its concept. It's going to sound weird in english no matter how well researched or prepared the voice actors are. I will admit I hold a huge bias against English dubs in general. I've rarely seen them done right, with the exceptions of some, say, like Yuu Yuu Hakusho. That was an amazing dub. ♥

I'll agree there are certain lines I wish never made it into the Hetalia dub (case in point: that awful Germany "What is it, another Jew?" line. No. Just no.), but I find myself laughing too hard at most of the rest of the script to categorize the dub as one that I dislike completely.

I tend to prefer subs myself for the very reason you just stated: some series just sound weird in English. Ouran High School Host Club is a good example of this, even though the voice acting itself was quite good in my opinion, because FUNimation chose to keep the Japanese honorifics like -chan and -senpai, which just sounds... strange... in English.

YYH did have a particularly good dub (at least the series did, and now the first movie/OVAs since FUNi finally licensed and released them with redubs, but the second movie still makes me want to weep with how bad US Manga Corps' dub was). It, along with Cowboy Bebop and many of the Studio Ghibli dubs, sets my standards for what a truly great dub is/can be.

YES, KURAMAAAAA/LKSDJFKLAJFASKLF TOTAL KURAMA ( ... )

There are bits of the dub that I have been exposed to via tumblr and are amusing, but for the most part, I agree. I don't watch it.

I watch it for laugh. But in most cases, I can't even understand what they're saying ; o ;

this is so true. xD the first time I watched the dub, I felt like I needed subtitles when certain nations were speaking.

It's okay. I personally like the dub. But sometimes I switch the audio b/c I do miss the sweetness that the sub brings to the characters.

Yup.

I've gotten too annoyed with Netflix (and the Internet at the times) when it comes to loading videos.

Plus, I like having the shiny DVD box in my hands. :)
