I am snivelling shamelessly now! This is totally amazing fic. Having an older Ryan and Stephen is a great move - unlike Pros, where there are a fair few stories featuring the older lads, there aren't that many I can think of in Primeval.

And Ryan's rootlessness, both because of the family stuff and the retirement, feels absolutely right. I love the way that Stephen has moved on and been successful, but that they're absolutely right for each other.

And the award for the best dog in a starring role goes to Joe! Ryan's confusion when he returns home after the weekend away is brilliant!

Thank you so much - I adore this fic!

Thank you! I have to admit, Pros was a major influence for me while writing this - I always loved the post-CI5 fics in that fandom but it's not a concept I've really seen much of elsewhere.

I really wish moving on and being successful was how Primeval had ended for Stephen.

You're very welcome! I enjoyed getting the chance to write again and I'm so relieved it came out okay. Hope you had a fantastic Christmas :)

I'm rather fond of the post-CI5 fics in Pros. I suppose May and I have touched on it in Whole New Vision in Primeval, but I can't think of any others.

Thank you again - you made my day! And I hope you survived what sounds like a mad Christmas!

This is utterly wonderful!

As Luka says, We've not had much fic for the characters when they're older, and this works perfectly.

I love the way Ryan and Stephen get gradually closer, and of course, Joe is wonderful!

Really, really great fic!

Lovely to see them slowly get closer together and of course Joe misses Ryan.

Aw, poor Joe with the antlers - our greyhounds never liked them either!

seven sauropods a-swimming
ROFL

Poor Ryan with the picture - so hard to say anything about it, but so sad that his father was pushed aside like that.

Love how Stephen understood and reacted.

*snort* for Ryan's reaction to Stephen's offer and *giggle* for Lyle's reaction to Ryan's reaction.

Awwwww for Joe's reaction, too. He did miss him!

And the ending almost had me sniffling. Poignant and yet hopeful.

This was bloody brilliant.

In my experience dressing up both pets and very young children in Christmas outfits is always met with a distinct lack of amusement *g*

Thank you very much! I'm really relieved it turned out okay :)

Glad that Ryan was able to have a great Christmas dinner! LOL re the sauropods. His poor sister, not knowing the emotional hand grenade she was giving him...

**This is not behaviour Ryan is planning on tolerating in the future**

LOL, yes, because with him AND Stephen in bed together, there won't be much room left!

**It looks like getting that out might have caused Lyle actual physical pain.**

sporfles. And yay for the job! And yay for Peru, though Joe is gonna SULK. Though he might endear himself to Lester *G*

Glad it ended with a lot of hope, and fun, and I'm so glad to see you writing again! (BTW, there was a Nick/Stephen fic several years ago that you posted all but one final part of - Perchance to Dream - will that be finished one day?)

Haha, I'd imagine how it would turn out would be Ryan and Stephen each lying along one edge of the bed, with Joe sprawled diagonally across the middle!

I think Lester would be horrified *g*

Thank you very much, I'm so relieved it worked okay - especially as, as you say, it has been rather a long time for me...It was lovely to be writing again, actually, I surprised myself!

Yes I remember that fic, back in the mists of time! I am still hoping, at some point, to finish all my WIPs and when I do get some time, that one will hopefully be near the top of the list as it is so nearly done.
