Another great and moving chapter with a genuine chuckle at the babys' initials.

Hmmm all that wiki research sounds very familiar, its very easy to get drawn from one angle to the next. Haven't studied history since leaving school which is thirteen years ago now I did renaissance history for my leaving cert which I think would be the equivalent to the A levels, now its more of a hobby. I love reading about Irish myths and legends etc probably could loose days on wiki refreshing my memory on stuff like that ( ... )

I don't think it's picking holes in the story to honestly wonder about some elements - and I think, despite our best efforts, we sometimes miss things or just make 'em up because we can't find the answer. Besides which, artistic license exists for a reason! Willful suspension of disbelief is often necessary for storytelling ;->

But yeah, Annie at 18 might not have thought about severing ties with her parents or may not have wanted to, no matter how badly one or both treated her.

Also as x_avecia_x said who else was there to name. When i take the time to think about it logically there doesn't seem to be many people in Annie's life who she would name as her next of kin. Even given how close she is to the study group it was still roughly mid way through the second season before anyone in the group became aware of the fact that she was estranged from her parents.

Awww, you guys. I love the discussion here.

I kind of think that whilst Annie claims she wants independence from her parents, I think she still secretly craves approval and acceptance for who she is. So maybe that's why she just couldn't cut all ties.

That's my story and I'm sticking to it!x

Sounds good you can sign me up to believing that. I think we have seen that tendency in Annie, the need to feel accepted even just in one of the more recent eps, where moving in with Troy and Abed she tries to shape herself into a version of her that will fit in with the boys.
Obviously she's also starting to feel a lot more comfortable in her own skin that she could tell them they need to fit in with her as well.

I actually 'whooped' when I saw Annie stand up for herself a bit with Troy and Abed. That's just the amazing community writing and acting at it's best I reckon.

I need this show back in my life!

I know after hearing some of the spoilers for the post hiatus eps it just makes you really really really need to see them.

Yup, that's the one alright.

I'm not really a swearer but it makes me want to unleash a lot of fr Jack type curses.

Oh I swear all the time which I know is un-ladylike but I do try to control myself as much as possible. I'm nowhere near as bad as Father Jack (man I miss that show).

'DRINK!'

There was a piece on the Irish news a week or so ago and they used the word ecumenical i started laughing and couldn't stop for about 5 mins.

It really was the best, I love watching it back and spotting actors/comedians making cameo appearances.

I do swear just not a whole lot, so I end up getting comments made and looks exchanged when I do. You'd think I'd just killed someone.

Oh I adored that scene, especially Ted when he bats the paper away in anger.

I know it was just perfect. My sister and I were in the shop used as Ireland's largest lingerie department a while ago and we just couldn't stop saying it.

I think that was the funniest episode ever. Just the very idea of a group of priests trapped in the lingerie department makes me giggle.
