It hurts to see you're still in so much pain, but I know you're strong enough to make it through this. We all make it through things, it's just sometimes we have "something" that's pushing us along, and sometimes we just have to drag our feet, but you'll make it.
If you ever want to talk, I'm a pretty decent listener ;o) and I have tons of cliche lines to lay on you, but who knows- it may actually help. So if you're ever in the mood, call me up. 978-790-2596
Doctors consider anything > than 2 drinks a day to be "heavy drinking". It was an eye opener for me -- I was sitting up at my cabin about midnight one night wondering how many more shots I could do (I have a weakness for aquavit & cognac) and still get up at 7 & drive back to the Cities. The old tables about how much you can drink & still drive are passe. I cut back. It's even more of a risk for women because they're smaller physically.
Alcoholism isn't just a physical addiction, it's also an emotional dependency. AA is for any age.
Having your parents box you in & be there you for won't necessarily address what bugging you inside. It often takes a 3rd person (counselor) to do that.
Your post shows you're aware of a couple issues -- alcohol and (?) depression. The next step is to address them. Family doctor? County Health Dept.? Lutheran Social Services? Minister? AA? There are plenty of options, but you're the one who has to take the step to do it.
