It scares me how politics who should rule on people's behalf, actually don't and decide what we have to do according to their own beliefs or interests ( Read more... )

It appears to have failed for the moment

Every woman should have the right to choose. I, like you, don't think I ever could, but as I have never been a situation where I have needed to choose I could not say for sure. Regardless, it is the woman's body and ultimately their choice on whether they will carry a child or not. No state should be able to choose for them.

I totally agree with that statement. And I'm Catholic.... so I don't see why people that don't even believe in anything can't give others that freedom....

I didn't even knw what happened there but according to all tweets i've read it was a scary situation but it ended well (so far)? Anyway i'm sick and tired of men thinking that they know better than women what to do with their own bodies. I want to look at their reaction if binch of wimen will decide that men has to take castration just cause they may be dangerous to women.

Yes the men and some women were trying to make getting an abortion as difficult as possible. They couldn't outlaw it because of Roe v Wade decision by the Supreme Court- it's an amendment to our Constitution. What they were trying to pass was invasive ultrasound (the ultra sound wand would be inserted into the woman's vagina)and the technician was supposed to tell the woman to imagine features on the fetus as well as to imagine a heartbeat. The bill would also close all but 5 clinics that perform abortions- leaving 5 in the entire state of Texas. And Texas is HUGE! here is a brief outline of the bill:"The bill would restrict abortions after 20 weeks of pregnancy, require all clinics to be certified as ambulatory surgical centers and require abortion doctors to have admitting privileges at a local hospital ( ... )

Thanks for explaining, not it's even scarier than before.
It's my choice as a woman to decide if i want to carry a baby and if i want to listen to any sound of it. Fetus is not a person, it's part of my body till i decide to give it birth isn't it too hard to understand for some?
And from Poland's experience i can tell if you prohibit abortion or make it hard to get women won't stop getting them it'll just be too risky for their health.
To see laws like that are trying to pass in US scare all of us cause often US is used as an example for other countries.

The same happens here, if abortion is illegal then women still get them, but a large percent of them die from infection or they bleed out, or other complications. I don't understand why other people feel the need to control a woman's reproductive rights. I just read something that said that it's only been legal to use contraceptives for the past 40 years! That is so outrageous!
I keep praying for enlightenment for all people, so that we can live together peacefully. ♥

In theory I agree with you. That's basically why I would never abort, to me those cells are a life...but I can't decide for everyone, nor a Country. It should be left to everyone conscience imo.
