Alec had been awake a while and had decided to do some knitting. In turn, Hunter had decided that this was much more interesting than sleeping and had taken off with one end of a piece of yarn, which had been more of a chase than Alec was expecting, culminating in a bid for sanctuary when Hunter jumped behind the still sleeping Dean

One minute Dean was fast asleep, the next he was startled awake by a heavy weight landing on top of him. Reacting instinctively before fully waking up, he pushed the weight off of him and went for the knife under his pillow.

Alec yelped as he was pushed and had to roll further down on the bed while simultaneously trying to grab for the cat and its booty of yarn, made more difficult with the flurry of movement as Dean half-woke and reacted as well.

Hunter streaked across the bed and jumped to the ground, ducking under the bed itself as Alec tried to scramble after it. "Dammit!"

Luckily Dean's brain caught up with his reflexes before he could do anything with the knife other than pull it out. He gave Alec an irritated glare. "I could've stabbed you. What the fuck are you doing?"

"Your cat took my yarn," Alec said grouchily, hanging off the edge of the bed to peer underneath at Hunter. "I told you it's got it in for me."

Dean rolled his eyes to the ceiling. "I'm in bed with a budding nudist."

"You weren't complaining that time in the common room," Alec pointed out, nudging Dean with a leer.

"Yeah, but I'm not the authorities," Dean pointed out. "Also, you may have noticed that I wasn't getting naked with you until we got back here."

Alec pouted. "I thought that was just making sure we didn't do anything inappropriate," he said.
