So it turns out you can fashion a reasonable hide-out in the basement, as long as you are willing to make your own fun. Which is probably the best explanation for the signs up on the walls, saying things like "STAY OUT", "NO PARENTS ALLOWED", and "THERE ARE RATS DOWN HERE EW", with little seahorses doodled all around the letters.
There's also a vague air of tension, as though certain people have been consuming entirely too much sugar, and lots of origami animals sitting around like forest critters flocking to a Disney princess.
