chocolate
jaejoong hates chocolate. he simply just does because he doesn't like sweet things. he likes the taste of kimchi straight on rice, wasabi straight on seaweed, and peppers straight on his tongue. so he's wondering why he's melting chocolate in their kitchen, using a glass over a pot as a double boiler.
changmin is rummaging through the fridge for strawberries. he likes sweets, not a lot but enough to make up for jaejoong's apparent dislike of them. he finds what he needs, including bananas and kiwis because they're somehow perfect with chocolate.
he sneaks behind jaejoong, who's mixing melted chocolate fudge with half-melted chocolate kisses, "taste, taste."
jaejoong laughs before taking the spoon out of the mix, letting it cool before changmin licks it off.
"is it good?" changmin doesn't answer, instead, carefully, spins jaejoong around and kisses him, all chocolate and sweetness on his tongue.
jaejoong's lips are sticky when he speaks again, "i hate chocolate.", and pulls changmin down for another kiss.
fast
they lived life in the fast lane. everyday was filled with schedules and airplane flights to gods know where, they didn't even bother looking on their plane tickets at times.
beijing, china is fast syllables and and quick flashes of the camera. japan is single after single and small stage after smaller stages. and korea, korea is a memory that is fast gone when they leave.
jaejoong believes that those who live quickly, live lively; but they also age with the pace of their lives. sometimes he thinks that he can see wrinkled forming right above his right eyebrow. he often ponders if there's some kind of cream for that kind of stuff, actually - he knows that there probably is but he isn't going to ask anyone.
the slow part of life is where changmin comes in. changmin loves him slowly, makes jaejoong feel alive off stage and makes everything go in super-star slow motion which is really normal motion (at least that's what jaejoong thinks. and jaejoong is a very special boy).
light
they're 8 and 6 years old, respectively when jaejoong drags changmin out to a fair; he's young and already a rebel. changmin is all screams and smiles with the glittering of the lights and rides, so distracted that he misses the light in jaejoong's eyes everytime he laughs, smiles, and shouts.
truth is that, jaejoong has this big crush on the tall, lanky younger boy that was dropped off in his art class by his mom. on the first day of class, changmin drew an astronaut, and on the second day, he drew a dinosaur.
the art teacher always has to ask what the two boys in jaejoong's drawings are doing. ("they're hugging, silly!")
when they leave the fair, jaejoong wants to hold changmin's hand, but he doesn't. changmin is busy eating his ice cream cone in one hand and swinging the other arm while he walks.
jaejoong turns around to get the setting sun out of his eyes. on the floor, he sees their shadows holding hands, kind of.
he draws that in art class the next time.
fire
jaejoong has always wanted to go camping. plain and simple.
he wants to be in the woods and yell and scream with no regard for neighbors or fans that can find him and drive him crazy.
changmin always reminds him that the bears would probably get him for being so noisy.
so they're here at home, roasting marshmallows to a candle fire and making smores. neither of them care that there's sticky pieces of drippy marshmallow and drops of chocolate on the living room table ("yoochun will clean it." jaejoong says).
it's all silent, just the the wild with the cold night air and dark moon until yunho comes into the apartment, turns on the light, and stares at them.
"...i know i shouldn't even ask."
