💎A guide to SixTONES fandom (v.2022)

Hi guys, this is a guide to introduce SixTONES to all of you. This work was made by viancii_caramel (thank you so much! 🥺💗).

[ABOUT SixTONES]ABOUT SixTONES

"Our name is SixTONES, and we have six members. It means there are six differents tones in the group. Mr. Johnny gave us this name, hoping that we would become a group where each of our individuals would shine". (Matsumura Hokuto on NETFLIX's RIDE ON TIME).

SixTONES is a boyband from Johnny's Ent.
They got their official name and announced it in Crea (Johnny's Ginza) on May 1, 2015.
SixTONES is read as "STONES".

They were 1st grouped together for a drama called Shiritsu Bakaleya Koukou (2012). Then they were often grouped together for magazine appearances and stage performances. A lot of fans liked them as a group and thought that they'll debut anytime soon. But they never got an official name until 2015 so fans called them B6. Also, for crea 2013 (crea is a mini jr concert held every April-May of the year and every unit gets specific days to perform) they were 1st grouped together but then Hokuto and Jesse were transferred to another unit 😭. Since then, B6 members were separated and were hardly seen to be grouped together. They requested that they want to perform a song again as a group and Mr. Kitagawa put them in the same unit and even gave them an official group name)

Name: Kouchi Yugo (髙地優吾)
Birth date: March 08, 1994
Date joined the agency: May 24, 2009
Member color: Yellow

Vianca's comment: Kouchi is the oldest member but the members tease him the most 😂 He is the sunshine of the group, he smiles a lot and he is so nice and calm. But he has this huge gap... 😂, for me he does sexy shots the best 🙂 (Mari's comment: 100% agree "I don't have sex appeal" and then 💣).

Name: Kyomoto Taiga (京本大我)
Birth date: December 03, 1994
Date joined the agency: May 04, 2006
Member color: Pink

Vianca's comment: The prince lead vocalist of the group. He has the longest stay in the agency among them 🙂. He is active in stage musicals too 🙂. He looks cool but he does things cutely in natural way 😭 (I can talk about him all day long that I don't know where to start LOL).
 (Mari's comment: He's a huge Conan fan, he used to be bad at cooking, but during the 2020 stay-at-home period, he learned how to cook).

Birth date: June 15, 1995
Date joined the agency: April 20, 2008

Vianca's comment:  The rapper and the MC of the group. He is also the leader-type. He is so composed and summarizes well what the other members say 😂. He looks like the one who will be naughty but he is actually the one who tames down the members. But, he has this cute gap...he is actually a mama's boy (in a good way).

Birth date: June 18, 1995
Date joined the agency: February 15, 2009

Vianca's comment: The visual of the group...well he got a good face and a good body 🙂. He has a unique fashion sense that I believe he is the only one who can pull his own fashion off...I mean if others wear his clothes...they won't look good on it 😂. He is kind of mysterious too..in many ways 😂 the king of introverts I must say. He looks tough but he gets emotional easily...I guess this is the cute side of him 🙂.  (Mari's comment: He's a puppy 🐶🥺🖤).

Name: Jesse (ジェシー)
Birth date: June 11, 1996
Date joined the agency: September 11, 2006
Member color: Red

Vianca's comment: The main vocalist of the group 🙂. He is the tallest too...with 184cm in height 🤯. He loves to do jokes and the master of donald duck monomane. (Mari's comment: His laugh is very unique.... almost therapeutic 😂)

Name: Morimoto Shintaro (森本慎太郎)
Birthday: July 15, 1997
Date joined the agency: around October
Member color: Green

Vianca's comment: The youngest in the group but the swag-est among them 🙂. He naturally got this younger brother vibes 😂 that even though he is all grown up now, I still find him cute 🙂. (Mari's comment: I'm sure that Shinchan is immune to cold and allergic to shoes (it's easier to see him wearing sandals or barefoot... even in winter)

SOME "FACTS" ABOUT THE MEMBERS:
  • Kouchi got into the agency through a program audition. School Kakumei held an audition for a new cast plus juniors. He won and became a regular in the said TV show.
  • Shin, Jesse, and Taiga were scouted by Mr. Johnny Kitagawa.
  • Mr. Kitagawa saw Shin in a restaurant and thought it was Ryutaro (Shin's brother). Then when he knew about it, he told Shin that he is free to come to the agency anytime.
  • Jesse was scouted when Mr. Kitagawa was looking for foreigners. He visited a dojo where Jesse practiced and scouted him.
  • Taiga was scouted when Mr. Kitagawa saw a photo of him in Hawaii vacation. He asked who is the boy in the photo and got some details. He called Kyomopapa and...you can read the translation of Kyomopapa's blog post about this here
  • Shin's older brother, Ryutaro Morimoto, is also in entertainment world. He is a former Hey!Say!JUMP member (another JE group).
  • Juri's older brothers, Hyouga Tanaka and Koki Tanaka, are also in entertainment world. Koki is a former KAT-TUN member (another JE group).
  • Taiga's father, Mr. Masaki Kyomoto, is a veteran in entertainment industry. His mom, Kyomoto Hiromi, is a former girl group member but she quit the ent. world after she got married. And another thing, Taiga and Koike Teppei are cousins.
  • Jesse and Inoo Kei from Hey!Say!JUMP are distant relatives
  • Jesse's father is an American and his mother is a Japanese.
  • Jesse's full name is Jesse Lewis.
  • Jesse was a regular model for FINEBOYS (July 2014 issue - August 2020 issue), but in September 2020 he "transfered" to Safari.
  • There's this "famous" funaka (not in good terms) OTP from this group and fans (and the members) call it KyomoHoku (Taiga and Hokuto).
  • Jesse and Kouchi are real life best friends.
  • Before this whole B6/SixTONES thing, Kouchi and Hokuto were in a jr unit called B.I. Shadow, then Juri and Jesse were in a jr unit called Hip Hop Jump.
  • They had their animal counterparts on their song Jungle and fans uses them as represenation of them sometimes (like in emoji and fanarts). Kouchi (hedgehog), Taiga (bat), Juri (lion), Hokuto (bird), Jesse (zebra), and Shin (bear).

They were asked by ARASHI-sans to choose their leader during their guest appearance in ARASHI ni Shiyagare and they all jokingly pointed at Kouchi (since when they asked what does the leader do, Arashi-sans answered that it doesn't do anything 😂 and so SixTONES concluded that if it's someone who does nothing then, it must be Kouchi 😂)

They said earlier this year (2021) on their online concert (on eST) that they will change the leader every year. Who ever wins the rock-paper-scissors during the Johnny's countdown (New Year countdown concert of Johnny's) will be the leader for the incoming year.

It made it's wave around March last year =) It is like an onomatopoeia for a loud sound like "bang"

"ICCHAO"
It means "go for it". It made it's debut to the public when they were gonna sign their super big poster in Shiodome 🙂 you can watch it here around 9:02

RIDE ON TIME... Take a deep dive into the beautiful world of Japan's top male idol groups from number one producer Johnny's in this revealing docuseries.

Netflix have a docuserie named RIDE ON TIME where we can learn about differents groups of the agency. SixTONES appear con S2 (Ep 9, 10, 11, 12). They followed SixTONES during 8 months, from before they knew that they were going to debut until they announced the news to the world.

1. What is "Johnny's"?
A. Johnny & Associates (Also known as Johnny's Entertainment or Janīzu Jimusho) is a Japanese talent agency, formed by Johnny Kitagawa in 1962, which produce male artist (solos and groups).  You can check the artist under JE here. You can know more of them watching RIDE ON TIME on Netflix.

2. Who is Mr. Johnny Kitagawa?
A.  He was the founder and president of Johnny & Associates, he died on 9.07.2019.

3. What is a "Junior"?
A. In Johnny's, they call the trainees "juniors" or "Johnny's juniors". But don't be fooled of the word "trainees" coz they're as great as debuted groups already ;)

4. Where can I stream SixTONES music?
A. SixTONES music is not available on streaming platforms like Spotify, the only way to legally listen to their music is to buy their CDs.

5. I don't have money. Hoy can I support SixTONES?
You can go to their officials accounts // accounts that upload official material of them and leave likes and comments showing your support. You can stream their official music videos on YouTube...You can share official stuff on your social media. You can write fanletters (I'll do a tutorial... soon)... listen their radio program (I'll do a tutorial... ... soon).
