Better banner :D I try my best for Warlow, YAY TO THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA!
NOTE: If you are a newbie to icon making and you don't understand what's written here, you can always ask me or refer to my
22nd Colouring Tutorial, which was written entirely for beginners ((hence why it explains all the basic steps)).
NOTE 2: If you use, please credit! Don't steal my icons and tuts and claim them as your own 'cause I will FIND OUT WHO YOU ARE.
*ahem*
Make a new layer, fill with #921625, set to Saturation 100%

Make a new layer, fill with #22274e, set to Multiply 100%

Duplicate base, bring to top, set to Screen 100%, MERGE ((this just enhances the blue in the background and warmth of his skin))

Go to Adjust < Colour Balance < Automatic Saturation Enhancement with these settings: BIAS: Normal. STRENGTH: Strong. SKINTONES PRESENT: Yes

Now I didn’t exactly take down notes for this next part has my original tutorial stopped after the ASE, so I’ll try to recap as much as possible just as a guideline ((of course, all my tuts are merely guidelines)); this of course means that I had merged all the previous layers before continuing with the following:
In order to get slanted words ((for those who don’t know already)) select the pen tool and draw a line across your icon in the angle you wish to have your writing ((this creates Vector 1)); a bright colour might be best for beginners so you can see what you’re doing, and if you want more text than one line draw another line on a new vector ((make the vector than draw your second line, otherwise they’ll both be stuck on the one vector)). The separate vectors ensure that you can change where your separate lines lie if you don’t like where you’ve drawn them originally.
On the first vector grab your text pen and hover it near your first line until you see a slanted A with a curve under it, something like a smiley face, then click and type in your text as usual; the same applies on your second vector with your second line. I’m not exactly sure but I think this is what I had:
VECTOR 1: “love” Vladimir Script, white, no outline, size 22, bold, opacity 46 or 52 (?)
VECTOR 2: “eternal”, Vladimir Script, white, no outline, size 16, bold, opacity 46 or 52 (?)
To hide your lines, just click on the eyes on your Layers Table next to the layers called “New Path” like so:
That gives you something like this:
For the light I created a new image 100 x 100, black. I went to Effects < Illumination Effects < Sunburst. I made two of them, one on top of the other, and I think this might be close to what I had ((I know it’s not accurate though)) :
1: #921625, LIGHTSPOT: BRIGHTNESS: 100, HORIZONTAL: 57, VERTICAL: 25. RAYS: DENSITY: 100, BRIGHTNESS: 0. CIRCLES: BRIGHTNESS: not sure, but possibly a low number like 5 or 12
2: #da2032, LIGHTSPOT: BRIGHTNESS: 30, HORIZONTAL: 57, VERTICAL: 25 - everything else at 0
Remember you can just use that as a guideline.
Select all, copy, paste as a new layer on your icon, set to Lighten. I think I had actually calculated my light spot wrong so I moved it to be just where the candle is once I had placed it on Lighten, which shouldn’t really affect anything else you’ve done on the icon.
et voila!
Hope you like my tuts and please remember to credit; credit is love :D Enjoy!
