There are times when I love Librarything and then I see things like the tags on Sebastian Barry's Long Long Way Drives me nuts. There's British as a fairly major tag, now I could let this one go because he is in the british army and it is about british involvement in Ireland and WWI. I have identified the culprit, whose definition of British authors is indeed, er, interestingly broad... There is note on his/her profile to the effect that he/she means "British (Isles) authors" but I don't think this makes it much better!

It really doesn't. It's one of those things soem people do and then wonder why you're upset. I'm starting to get an urge to encourge people to use North Atlantic Islands when referring to what was formerly the "British Isles" a nice non-imperial term.
