[ Kyouko watches from a little distance as it all happens. She isn't sure where exactly she found herself, but it's understandable all the same-- the pain of loss, the longing for revenge, and then the worst part.. when you're unable to do anything about it, unable to get any sort of revenge that's enough to make the pain go away. (It's never enough.)
She isn't sure what to say either, so she just stares silently for a few moments, but when Melusine keeps fighting and fighting Kyouko knows there's no other way to break the cycle than at the very least speak up. ]
[ It's not a monster. It's not that dragon. But at least it's a voice, and it's enough to get Melusine's attention. She pauses, gasping for breath, slowly turning toward the source. The claws are gone, the fangs are gone, her eyes are calm again. Regardless, the dark crest still pulses, though only faintly visible at this point. ]
[ Kyouko does get the danger - if she's this wild because of her grief, she might get attacked too. But all the same she still stands her ground and speaks up. ]
Listen, I don't know how I ended up here either, but-- [ Her voice is a bit harsh, but then softens a little after a pause. Her tone is almost a little better. ] No matter how much of those things you take on, it won't feel better anymore.
my apologies; I have a severe lack of srsface icons for Mel ;_;wyvern_guardianJuly 26 2011, 01:13:12 UTC
Then what do you suggest I do?! There's nothing left! Nothing to protect! No purpose! Nothing to fight for!
[ Melusine doens't physically lash out. She still has enough sanity left to know this person is innocent and only trying to help. Who knows how long it'll last, though... ]
How would you know anything, anyway? You're just a child.
[It's not the first time that Myhrta has awakened to the heat and blood of a battle. There's so much noise and movement that she doesn't know what's going on at first. She sees the beast flying at the dragons who become soldiers just a moment before she attacks. What is this? Some kind of fruitless attempt to stop it? Or torture for sport, and they don't die at her claws, but keep coming back and - and...
why did she think the beast was female? She has no reason to presume that...]
Stop!
[She shouts it, holding her hand out. Green glows around her closed fist and she readies a spell, but to use on what, she isn't sure.]
[ At least the voice manages to catch Melusine's attention. Slowly, she turns, glaring at the newcomer, claws still out, eyes still burning with hatred. ]
How dare you make demands against me.
[ And then she spots that green glow. Magic. It has to be. Maybe an attack? A threat? She readies her claws. ]
What do you want. I'll cut you down if you attack me.

[He's behind her, among the bodies, wanting to reach out but afraid that she'll not recognize him. And feeling angry, over Ember's gruesome death and over his own fear of his own friend. He can't do that to her. It's not fair.
The boy staggers to his feet to reach out to her. Get over your fear, Med'an, and maybe you can help with hers.]
[ Melusine doesn't exactly feel like listening to reason right now. She still thrashes around, attacking the beasts that fly at her.
And then she turns and sees Med'an.
Her expression shifts to something different. Anger? Fear? Regret? Whatever it is, at least it's keeping her from lashing out. She says nothing, only stands and stares, gasping for breath, still hunched over and ready to lash out at a moment's notice. ]
[She's not attacking him immediately. That seems good - he saw what she did with the others who came too close, and if she's not doing that to him, then she must recognize him, at least a little. He slowly gets to his feet, a little shaky in the haze of battle, and takes just one step closer.]
Mel -
[His hands reach out for her, even though he's too far away to actually touch her.]
[ There's only a brief moment of realization, but then Melusine's mind fades away again, and she screams, racing forward, claws out.
She doesn't see a friend before her. She sees more enemies. Beastmen. Murderers. Traitors. She'll kill them. She'll kill all of them. She's got nothing to lose; why hold back? ]
