On Water Chestnuts...

So I want to plant water chestnut. I was fearful though after glancing at some articles that it had been deemed invasive in the US. On further investigation I find that the edible water chestnut that we are familiar with is Eleocharis dulcis what is commonly called water chestnut in the US is actually Trapa natans. The great majority of people refuse to eat vegetables at all, or anything that is new or unusual. We could grow tons of it & most people would prefer to go hungry. Starving, tho, would be another thing altogether.

This is the argument I make for the asian carp infestation! Hello? FREE FOOD, and a whole lot of it! The asian carp is a primary food source for a large part of the world's population, it's causing our ecosystem harm, but if I ask for it at the grocery store they don't know what I'm talking about. Bring it on! I'll eat it! LOL!! :D
