As a matter of fact it was - however, mostly in the choice of language, as Redrick uses lots of semi-criminal slang which was not allowed to print in the Soviet era.

Yes! But this Golden ball executes ALL requests... even which did not ask :)))

Brothers (in original) has written "Золотой Шар". Шар = Sphere. But this translated from English as "Golden Ball". Ball = Мяч (yes, david beckham :)

However in russian language:

Яйца = 1.Eggs (Chicken egg); 2."Balls" (as Man Genitals :)))))
This is the Quote from "Хромая Судьба" - imho the best book of Strugacky Br. This book much it is difficult to translate into english.. :(
