I get the impression when I read your stuff for kids that you had a very fun childhood. What age group was this for? Was there an outbreak of hilarity at the word 'bum'? Do you like the Dr Xargle books? - I LOVE them (must get an icon, in fact...) This reminded me of them.

the class was not my usual one, (ie not the Tripod group)being much younger (average age is eight) and more gender balanced. the literacy level is very mixed too.
although the 'story' was a means to an end, and a pretty hokey one at that, it did cue up some decent activities, shadow puppets, painting etc and a funny discussion answering the questions in the 'dr seuss-esque' (dr seuss ex machina??) section, what colour would a moose-goose be? etc.
yep they laughed at 'bum' and at the not talking to strangers thing which was a joke i thought only i would get!
i don't know what Dr Xargle is, please enlighten me?
love your icon, have you escaped the clutches of your lietary and philosphical heavyweights?? LOL!
hope you are having a productive time at work yourself.
warm regards, and some waffle,
wytch xx
