Such a strange and... human-like way to repair those complicated systems - bring repair team in via the human body!

I love it!

I generally like things which could not be "rationally" explained. There is no rationalidea behind this way of action - but it makes a bridge between hudge thing and nan things made by humans via human body made by at least Nature.
That is how I feel about this.

certainly the term 'robot' is more, uh, opaque these days...

But on the other hand see this;

As for Eva, this story ended up being sort of Babylon Dutch in space
(i must have had unfinished business with some of that!)
so i'm glad Eva is interesting enough to keep you reading.

and thanks, as ever, for the feedback :))

i was feeling a bit under the weather yesterday, but i could've sworn i left a comment here! i must've closed the window before sending it.

regardless, i was very impressed with this section. This is all cool to me, cuz it's the first story of yours i've read as it comes out in installments. it's like back in the day when author's would publish their short stories piece by piece in the magazine.

ok, so one question, or curiosity: whats the inspiration for Eva's name? if it's a story spoiler then, please, do not divulge.

hey thanks! :)) and that's very kind of you

especially as i think you might enjoy my steampunk stuff more. (It's no better - just different, a bit anyway!)

ah Eva - well, like most of my names there like a gzillion puns in it. For one thing the character is part inspired by the female cosmonaut who was the first woman to do a spacewalk or E.V.A. as they're called.

Hindu mythology lists the various planets, (spheres, realms,) or Loka, of the Gods (a bit like the Qabbalah really) such as Diva Loka or Jiva Loka etc
These names recur and get used by Strindberg in his plays and crop up also in Dr Who (!). In one of those Dr Who stories (which is actually riffing off from Strindberg) the main antagonist is a character called Light.
So - geeky i know, but it doesn't mater, just how i came up with the name is all.
There's other reasons but... enough already! LOL!

And, dude - thanks again! i appreciate the comments :))

your writing is amazing. esp. loved the "mute" scene -- then fascinated/saddened that she'd only imagined it. very real. "people hearing something more than there was building connections where there weren’t any, dealing with places as relationships" -- profoundly true statement. when i have the energy, i'd love to try to help you sell some of these?
