Inspired by the movie 2001 a space oddysey, Bowie's music was actually used by the BBC in covering the landing - i can't begin to imagine what a kick that must have given the young Martian from Bromley...

As for Bowie - except for an odd prediliction for the Visconti remake, yeah i gotta agree, mellotrons rule!:))
hmmm... think i know the Floyd bit, might try tracking it down, i remember seeing a clip of them actually playing it - in France more than likely...
