it's a race now between who's first: the ficathon entries being finished (currently 75% done) and mailed out OR my laptop breaking down.

in other news my assignment is 26 pages long already and I've yet to get to the crux of my argument AAARRRGGGHHHHHH!!!

Lol. I <3 you too! I think I need a brain (one that's full of common sense) instead of an assistant, because I keep doing stupid things like going overboard (see comment to Shimmy).

but I'm now at 83%, so fingers crossed! I might give you a task in a week or two ... How often are you online? Like at least once a day?

Thank you! I handed it up at 37 pages and 1600 words over the word limit with only 10 pages worth of actual essay. The rest was me stupidly attempting to transcribe 6 hours of teacher monologue and student discussions with attention paid to voice tone, hand gestures and counting the seconds of pauses between words. I only made it to about the first hour and had to try some sort of shorthand for the rest ... Only to discover my argument relied on very little of what I had transcribed. I'm a fool. BUT! It is done and out of my hair!

Oh damn. I remember transcribing a conversation for linguistics with attention paid to specific details like that, and it takes FOR-EV-ER. I think I spent hours typing up just over 12 minutes of dialogue. I canNOT imagine transcribing a whole 6 hours worth of it. That is insanity!

You deserve a medal for all that you do. Again, feel free to look me up if you need anything!
