About to reset my technological scale

With classes ended, massively annoying serials work at a stopping place, and sister's research trip winding down, it's time for the family vacation!! We're leaving tomorrow morning, driving to the Adirondacks, camping, doing a 2-3 day canoe trip.  We are then headed up to Montreal for a weekend, along with my mom's brothers and their wives for the ( Read more... )

1. Have a great time on your canoe trip. Personally, I would consider this like work, but with bugs and dirt, but I accept the fact that some people enjoy this sort of thing.

2. Montreal is a totally awesome city! Don't miss taking a walk in the old section (vieux quartier) and around St. Denis and St. Cathrine streets. (well, you probably want to skip the part of St. Cathrine that's all live nude sex shows, but again, you might enjoy the sheer tackiness, so don't listen.)

3. If you like canoeing and such, do not miss the Mount Royal death march. Park near the lake (a.k.a. Lac aux Castors a.k.a the Beaver pond, although it's full of goldfish) and hike around all of the trails. For an amazing view of the city and the St. Lawrence, hike up to the Chalet.
