• I would very much like to be a pet owner again. I miss having a furry being around. If I had a dog, we could do obedience classes! Which I think would be awesome. And if I had a cat, I would have something to sit on me while I'm on the couch and look at me disdainfully when I fail to be sufficiently

Take a look at organizational and community psychology. They're prolly closest to what you're looking for. That or sociology.

It's sadly still present tense moving. When I'm set up here, I'll prolly do a video tour (side effect of my boything getting me a Flip for Christmas).

I have very little of value to say, esp. about the academicky side of things, but:

1) downsizing is fun and awesome, and I look forward to doing it soon
2) dogs are best! obedience training is also fun
3) introspection and thinking about what's good for you and makes you happy is a very valuable skill. huzzah!
