The SSD video isn't that surprising...we've had drives in that form factor for years; we've just replaced the USB connector with a SATA connector. Given the computer industry's obsession with size, this seemed inevitable.
The monitor seems a bit excessive. When I saw it, I thought to myself, "What's next, the IMAX head dome?" Of course, watch me say it and some crazy OEM build it...
... um... no. The next generation of SSD drives is PCI-Express x16 drives. SanDisk and a few others are selling PCI-X SSD drives for something like 500 a pop. When those drop in price, I can assure you THAT is what i'll be loading my OS off of. Why would I limit an SSD drive to 3mb/s? SATA is of the past.
