Well, I finished Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows in a little under twelve hours. Sometimes it's good to work at a library. Massive, massive spoilers for the book behind the cut.

I was so disappointed in book six, that I opted against pre-ordering seven, like I did the last two (I even pre-ordered view Amazon UK so I could get the non-Americanized versions). I hated that the books had become so cliche and almost trite in how they dealt with things. There's also only so much Deus Ex Machina I can take.

I read this and then read the Wiki entry. I find myself rather glad I passed. It sounds like it was more of what I hated in book six. I'm really disappointed about "Snape loves Lily." If it's OK with everyone else, I'll stick with my image of the greasy, snarky potions master with no heart.

I'm sure I'll read the book eventually but I'm definitely not in a rush. The ending just seems so cheap to me. I prefer a story where the good guys pay a price, especially if they do things like use Unforgiveable Curses. The whole, "OMG! Everyone gets married and has beautiful kids and lives HAPPILY EVER AFTER!" just annoys me a bit.

You'll have to share how you feel when you've processed it more. :)
