You sound like you did better with Paranormal Activity than I did. My friend and I were both shaking when we walked out and neither of us slept that night. And it does seriously stay on your mind, doesn't it? You can't not think about it.
I didn't like Carriers too much because it'd been hyped up for me. But y'all have a good point, that it's about survival. How we all think we'd do the right thing by someone else, but when that moment comes we're unbelievable selfish and just want to save ourselves. Except for Chris' character; he just didn't give a shit about anyone.
And wasn't Avatar awesome? I could talk about it for hours and not run out of things to say it was just...
I did surprisingly okay with it while watching the film but it was afterwards that really freaked me out for ages! It's a keeper, in a bad way.
Yeah, I think maybe the reason some people didn't like the film was because maybe because they were expecting more zombies and gore, since it sorta looked like that kinda film before it came out. You sum it up perfectly though, it really is every person for him/herself in the end.
I still love Avatar to pieces, I say fuck the haters!
From what I know Nine was made by the same people that made Moulin Rouge, I had the reaction you did with Nine with Moulin Rouge the first time I saw it. I actually shut it off 20 minutes into it. The second time my [now]ex-fiance told me about it and I watched the whole thing and I was in tears and singing the songs and yeah. Some movies are crap the first time you watch them because you expect them to be perfect, then when you lower your expectations a little and watch them a second time they are perfect. I think it's just the style of the Director and such to make a cult classic out of passion and destruction.[BTW I never saw Nine, I'm just giving a good guess here.]

That's a fair enough point, but I didn't have any expectations for this at all, to be honest, I only went to see it because it happened to be on during my break. I just really didn't enjoy it, but then those types of musicals aren't my thing, so maybe that's why. It just didn't seem very coherent, though.
It was out in December! We only had it for a couple of weeks though, it wasn't very popular at all. Your best bet now will be either the DVD, or a download, I'm guessing.
with avatar!!! I loved that movie! i went to watch it twice! and I could watch it three times! just awesome :D specially Sam worthington hahhahaha!! that to me, he looks more handsome in the movie than in the real life :P just in the real life looks blond and in the movie not. so. I prefer him on the movie! hehehe but yeah, well developing of the story, I really like and just a great job done by the actors thinking that they had to act while having on some things to catch their movements, pretty uncomfortable, but a good job they did!
Haha, I've seen it twice too, and I'd love to see it again! It's such a technically beautiful film. I agree with your point on Sam Worthington too, I've kinda fallen for him since I saw Terminator Salvation last year!
I would maybe advise against watching Paranormal on DVD at home, since it all takes place in the house...it might freak you out!!
Aaw, well, things don't really pop out at you in Avatar, if that helps. It's more about the depth perception and the amount of detail in Pandora and the N'avi people, it immerses you within this different world. So I don't know, maybe you'd be able to handle that better than normal 3D?
Damn straight! Sparrow is a legend, and he never stops being funny.
