I'm so glad to hear that you enjoyed the fic! (And wow! That's got to be one of the most detailed reviews I've ever received! :O ) I'm especially glad to hear that you liked Kurenai's friends / their backstories... writing OC's makes me nervous!

The constructive criticism is just that -- constructive. :) Thank you for pointing out those ideas. I must admit I did base a lot of this off real world situations in the military -- perhaps too much for a story based off a fictional universe!

This is such a great peice of work, and even though it's 2:30 in the morning I feel I have to commend you on it. As both a woman and a former soldier, I can tell you from experience that this transcends fiction to reality in so many ways, and does an excellent job in pointing out all of the socially ingrained prejudices and double standards, obstacles and stereotypes we have to overcome in both military and civilian spectrums, basically - all the bullshit we have to put up with as women.

I will be adding this to my recommendation list over at my journal, (as well as your DeiSaku fic which I've already reviewed and told you I love).

I also friended you, because I love your style and look forward to more from you. :D

Well, damn. I've always hated Kurenai, but now I feel like I can't. This was amazing and real. And her friends--Rina and Ami, they seemed like they would actually exist in the canon. I loved it.

What can I say in response to this? I'm really quite floored with your writing.

I loved how you explored the issues of being a female kunoichi. And it was about fifty time more awesome because you didn't have that "kunoichi must lose their virginity on missions" thing in there. I really loved how you took that in a different, more original direction. :)

I really felt like it was Kurenai writing this letter to her daughter. This fic is very, very awesome. ^_^
