So, I had a bit of a day out on the town, which ended up being a bit more exciting than it should have been, and not in a good way.  I'd had several errands to run, and had put them off for today, since I figured a Monday wouldn't be too bad, crowd-wise.  Because, even though I'm desperate to embrace the holidays, the traffic is something I'll pass ( Read more... )

You could find a group who does carols at the hospitals!

A friend of mine is in hospital at the moment, and he said that carollers came in last night, and he really enjoyed the visit!

That sounds like a great idea! It would mean I wouldn't have to go outside in the snow. And I wouldn't have to worry about being driven away from houses.

I'd just have to make sure I was singing with a group; my singing alone would probably make patients worse...

I'm sure there are groups that already do this? Maybe try contacting your local hospital, and find out if they have someone who already does it (like a community / charity group?) and then contact them?

We have the "captain Starlight" team here, which is basically, character actors that go around to childrens dorms (all year round) and try to brighten up their time in the hospital... there might be something like that you could try too?
