Thanks go to Cory Doctorow for picking up Erica's story for Boing Boing.

Thanks for the heads up on this, cristobatNot many updates on me. After talking to Erica and Jaci, all of the minutiae of life seem pretty inconsequential and the things and people that annoy me and make me happy will obviously come and go ( Read more... )

As positive as she always is. I sent her a CD of my favorite music to keep her spirits up.

And BTW, I know I've mentioned it before, but she is not my cousin by blood. She's my step-cousin. No, I was not a match for her, nor was her sister.

That doesn't mean there isn't one out there, waiting to be found.

Yeah, if there's one thing that really bugs me, it's people not keeping their word, whether it's something big or small.

I applied to the Donor Program. It's only a matter of time till they send me the kit.

Thanks, you rock. I'm assuming it was free for you since you're a rare donor. This is what Erica wrote to me about minority donors:

"So, the deal with the free kits is that the person just has to be in some way a "minority". I'm not sure how that's proven when you just order a kit though; I think it's somewhat on the honor system. People can order free kits from the Asian American Donor Program at aadp.org as well."

Not free. But I passed on the AA donor site onto my sister. We're both now registered 'hapas'. ;)

The website is a total honor system.

BTW, I watched Erica's video. So cute. Made me cry.

I hope my sister and I can make a difference!

I applied to the donor program today. I'm Ukrainian/Mediterranean descent so not a "minority" but I may be able to help someone someday. :)
