Yeah, so Eva Green's pics are all from Franklyn. The Anakin pic is from ROTS. I don't own any of those things. But I did scribble over them, and add some effects.

I don't think it's un-obvious, it just takes a while to become clear.

Basically the scenes cut back and forth between several people living ordinary - if rather emotionally fragile - lives in modern London, and a madman's perception of London and its denizens (he calls it Meanwhile City). It turns out that he is on a crusade to kill someone known as The Individual, and that the scenes we are seeing through the madman's eyes are temporally contiguous with the ones we've been seeing in a more traditional way - they just look and feel different because his perceptions are so altered, so that for the first hour or so you think you're watching two completely different storylines.
