Actually, I think this is one of the things he really likes about Ryn - the stolen childhood thing. She has a mother/sister/daughter thing going on for him: a feminine expression of familial love Obi-Wan was too young to remember. That's why they never do more than kiss, here: in the end he loves her, but not like that. My head!canon says Jedi don't know how to show affection in a non-sexual way.
