I was so surprised they used the alternative universe cliche. I see it a lot in fic but not in film (perhaps I'm watching the wrong movies).

Mine is kind of the opposite. Playing Spock is what put Zach on my "rawr" radar. Because Spock has always been on my rawr radar. I still do not find Zach as Sylar (or Zach as Zach) hot, but playing a hot iconic character does wonders for one's sex appeal. Though. I still do not have an urge to read New!Spock/New!Kirk fic. I just didn't get that vibe from them in the movie. It's nothing like the OG!Spock/OG!Kirk vibe from TOS or all the movies. That was true love, man. Platonic and/or otherwise.
