My solution to the whole predicament of constantly hearing of engagements and hookups and such is to regard these things as what normal people do, remember I'm not normal, and move on. Maybe I'm just jaded and able to act as though the whole concept of love doesn't really exist, but I'm in your boat and I definitely agree it gets a bit old after awhile to hear about everybody all lovey-dovey when you're nowhere close.
