tornado evac, wasn't that fun

This afternoon I had my first "grab the pets and head to the basement" exercise as a tornado passed within just a few miles of my home. 
Much devastation and some deaths in its wake 12 miles away, but it didn't veer any closer to us. 
Much fun (ha) trying to collect squirrelly mice on short notice (to get them into carry-cage). . Their spacious ( Read more... )

I've spent most of my life in Southern California. Once, on a trip to Florida, I rode out a hurricane.

Give me a quake ANY day of the week.

I'm more irritated than scared. I think I'm saving scared for if/when I see a funnel nearby. Though knock on wood, that's never gonna happen....

Tornadoes are not a good thing. I've had a building demolished a city block from the 2nd floor apartment I was staying in once. It was not pleasant.
