As to individual policemen, well, it is their job to catch idiots who attack folk who are protecting grandmas, and it is also their job to check out violent domestic disturbances. What concerns me is that I think it is likely that dozens of policemen were sent hither and yon looking for the guy who attacked the Mayor, even though Grandma and Baby were out of danger and the Mayor was under guard in the hospital, while, in contrast, none were sent checking out the people on my street who were in danger.
Somebody decided which policemen to allocate to which jobs. Now, it's possible that there were five dozen other things going on as well, and the police presence was spread thin; if so, it didn't make it into the news. The cooperation of many local police organizations in looking for the guy who attacked the Mayor was.
So, I'm seriously wondering if the police presence was allocated wisely.
I love the case! It's really turning out great. Will you have a background (ie--it sitting on the ground/against a wall or tree or ???) or will it just be a blank background?
That's sad that the cops too so long on a domestic. And it's even sadder for the reason. :(
I hope your Aunt's surgery goes well. And :( that your sink isn't draining. Did you get to call the plumber today or is that tomorrow?
Thanks! I'll leave the case on white, much like the hat, I think. In my journal's style, that looks good.
I did e-mail (well, actually facebook-message) one of the local county politicians here with my concern; she is looking into it. It may be that there really were a bunch of emergencies at that time. If not, she won't be shy in reminding the police that her constituents matter.
The surgery did go well, and so did the call to the plumber, except of course, for having to pay him while I'm still laid off. Stuff like that makes it harder to keep my spirits up in this dreadful economy!
I hope it was a case of too many emergencies and not just politicians tying up resources like they often do.
Glad to hear about the surgery & the plumber. Yes, not good to have to pay him (and they can be pricey!) when you aren't working. I tried to send some good thoughts your way earlier tonight when I was cooking dinner (about 3 hours ago). With the way my months have been going I don't know if that will help, the Universe seems to have it out for me, but it's worth the try :)

As far for the police, are they doing their job?
