In short, this means they decide if a story is good enough to publish.

But their decisions are based on more than that. They consider lots of other factors, for instance:

I wouldn't recommend that either! Though I would hope Kindles are built to be more resilient than a standard 'puter if dropped, if I had one, I wouldn't want to test the theory.
