Friday Fantasy - also remember next Monday!

My sister, Dragon, lured me into shopping last Friday since she was going to Michaels, had a great coupon, and going shopping for arty stuff with her is always fun.

I looked at the pre-made wreaths, especially one in all purple, but they were too expensive. So, I thought, I bet I can get a few things to make a wreath I'd really like. I spent more ( Read more... )

Thank you for posting pictures of the wreath! It's absolutely lovely, and it looks to me like it could cover a lot of seasons.

Best of luck with the book sales on Monday!

I'm glad you enjoyed it. I do think it's more a Pagan Yule wreath than a Christmas wreath, but that's also appropriate.

My brother-in-law, on the other hand, said it looked like a wedding wreath to him.

Thanks for the good wishes!

Thank you!

I don't think the book is available anywhere before Monday. I'll be sure to post Sunday night or Monday with at least one link! However, you can see the cover here: http://crossedgenres.com/announcements/subversion-science-fiction-fantasy-tales-of-challenging-the-norm/

Great wreath. Remember: A thing of beauty need not be limited to special seasons or occasions.

That's true, however, things that you use in season have a kind of power too. And I do have this on the door at work, so fitting into expectations to some degree is important--though I am very pleased to have snuck the dragons in!!!

Perhaps I'll come up with a new decoration for my door for other different seasons, though. I really am enjoying having this special thing there now.

Excellent point on the seasonal items having a type of power. I hadn't considered that.

The purple dragons mixed with white doves is wonderful.

Thank you.

One advantage of seasonal things is that I get bored easily. Having an office with no window exacerbates that problem in a visual/experiential sense. This wreath is helping alleviate that!
