I was surprised to see that no one had nominated Torn World yet, so I nominated it, even though I haven't been a very active participant. But I particularly enjoyed the Torn World "disk draw" that you did, and your card draws in general. If you wouldn't mind, I would love to nominate your card draws for the "Other Category" as well. I wanted to check first, because you hadn't listed them here, and some people aren't comfortable with readings being considered as creative projects or being nominated for awards like this.

Thank you for nominating Torn World. It's a project I really believe in and would like to see grow and find a greater audience.

And thank you for nominating Christopher Bingham too--I didn't know he had an LJ, though it doesn't appear he uses it much.

And thank you for offering to nominate my card draws! I'm glad to hear that you are enjoying them that much.

There is definitely as aspect of creative writing involved, especially for the Torn World disk readings, where I'm setting the scene as well. What do you think--would it be beneficial if I set the scene for other types of readings too?

I'm thinking I will probably yes to your offer. I'd like to talk about it with a couple of people first; if I do say yes, I'll create a landing page for it and get back to you with the link, so it's a little easier for people to check it out.

I'm hesitant to say too much about giving readings since it's not something I've ever done myself (I collect tarot decks and other oracles, but the thought of reading for others terrifies me--those of you who do it have my utmost respect). But I do think your Torn World readings really stand out. I initially assumed it was just because it was an interesting medium, but now that I think about it, it was presented in a very immersive way, and that was probably the more critical factor. For just a few moments, I really did feel as though I had been transported to Torn World. Setting the scene like that for your other types of readings could make them a much more powerful experience. I assume it would require considerably more effort from you, and only you could say if that would be worthwhile, but you might want to try it sometime.

I am happy to wait for you to decide whether you'd like to accept the nomination.

And one of these days, I'll get more time to explore more of your other work. :) So many interesting projects, and so little

It's good to hear about readings from people who don't do them, just as it's good to hear about your fiction from people who aren't writers. It's a different perspective.

To use a very different metaphor, I found it helpful to get a perspective on my resume from someone not in the legal field, it helped me to rewrite it for applying to jobs where the person hiring didn't have the same background.
