I didn't call my father for to wish him a Happy Father's Day. I didn't send him a card either

I can relate, at least about have an "emotionally (and physically) unavailable addict for a father." I sent a card, but I didn't call. Knowing that his love is conditional on him not ever knowing who I really am makes the thought of speaking to him somewhat repelant.

I know how you feel...my dad called me though...which was interesting.

I love the fact you called your mom and told her, I have a friend whose father left them when she was 2, and she gets her mom a fathers day card every year.
