After Laos, Bangkok seemed like the biggest metropolis on earth. There are, literally, more ATMs in Bangkok central station than there are in the whole of Laos.

And after Bangkok, England seems very peaceful and slow. Bah. I am still jetlagged and sulky about being back at work already. Looking back on it now, it seems so incredibly remote. I'

Oh, thank you! I very much wanted to comment on your drunken vomiting episodes, but just couldn't find the words..

I have never thrown up in bed, although I did once get very drunk in Tangier and woke up the next day in a skip in Gibraltar.

I'm quite glad you didn't, it would have made me feel like less of a person. Although I've never managed to not get home. Even if I don't know how I did it, I still get home. I certainly never crossed international borders when drunk.
