Cheap shot

I'm amused that Tony Blair, the Prime Minister who didn't care whether what he said was true so long as it sounded nice, has converted to Catholicism, the church for people who don't actually believe what their church teaches but like the smell of the incense. They're made for each other!

politics, tony blair, religion, cheap shot

It is interesting that he has become a Catholic now that converting would not cost him his job.

I challenge this statement.

It was the case for a long time that, by law, a Catholic could not be Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, so if Blair had converted while in Downing Street he would have to have resigned. Maybe this has changed.

Ah no I was more wondering whether it was really interesting, as it's been speculation for a couple of years that he'd do exactly that.

I recognise this description but, incense aside, associate it with Anglicanism. Who don't (as far as I'm aware) have an Opus Dei wing. Though obviously it would be better if they had a team of ninja vicars, as they'd be more unexpected than those sinister looking priests.

Do you know of anyone who actually believes in transsubstantiation?
