It is a bit of a pain - particularly setting up unique passwords for IMAP, SMTP, IM, etc. But once I'd done that, I only have to think about it a few times a month.
I used to use Mozy for online backup but got pissed off at them when they jacked up their rates and limited the size of my backup set (or rather priced it out of my reach). Luckily as backup admin at my work place I have other options.
I've switched on 2-step authentication and it's a bit of hassle but not so bad so far. Once I hit a speedbump (or a wall) I may change my mind.
Do you know anything about CrashPlan, which Farhad Manjoo recommends in the link above? I'm likely to sign up for it on the basis of his recommendation.
